Colour Your Life, Colour Your Soul!
My own personal journey into the world of colours started very young I guess. I grew up in a world full of colours. My mother was a dressmaker in a small town on Borneo Island. I used to play with colourful threads and materials. The raw materials to make a beautiful dress seemed to be like a rainbow in its very own right.
A psychotherapist in Perth uses artistic approach to help her clients; she has inspired me to work with colour for the first time. The power of colour hits me when I was brought into the world of Aura-Soma. The founder Vicky Walls said “You are the colour you choose”. When a person chooses colour (eg. the shirt to wear for the day), it is a soul’s decision of the vibration you would need for the day. Colour we choose is the mirror of our soul; reflecting our entire psyche, and at times, our entire life story and our soul journey!
What we see as colours (visible) are actually vibrational (invisible), electromagnetic wave and particles (photons) of light. Light is reflected, refracted or absorbed to express in different wavelengths as colours. Our eyes where specially designed to perceived the full rainbow spectrum. Other animals might not see the world as we human do.
The rods and cones are receptors in our eyes that help us differentiate colours through picking up and sending distinctive signal to the brain to be interpreted as different hues and tones. Its function and its uniqueness are suggesting that this is a gift from the Divine. It is really up to us to put into good use!
Images or picture in our mind is the original language of communication and not words. What we represent with colour on a piece of paper is closer to what we try to express with our words. Therefore colour takes us into the psyche of a person or the society, describing their thoughts and feelings. Colour tells us their life story, painting their pain, and splashing their joy and success.
Seeing the world through colours allows you to perceive from lenses that you would otherwise, never would have explored. Colour allows you to explore your inner world from a deeper level. Understanding who you are and what you are here for. By changing the lenses that you use to perceive the world into a broader spectrum, can you then truly be a Rainbow Warrior. Embracing the light and the dark; and all spectrum of rainbow in between!
